Thanks to Bubs and LizzieBee2 who discovered that going to this did not involve re-mortgaging the house and Jen who scored a ticket for me, I was able to go with them and see Rafa in this glorious setting.


I'd always assumed that this sort of event would be full of posh people who were more interested in the hospitality than the tennis. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was a total delight. The people couldn't have been nicer and we were plied with champagne and canapés on arrival. We were even able to buy a very reasonably priced tea in the members area shown below.


The court area is tiny but was packed out for Rafa's match.


He played Kei Nishikori and it was taken pretty seriously. Obviously neither player was going all out but they made it a highly competitive match, which Rafa won, 7-6(3), 7-6(4).
