It's been nearly three weeks since Rafa limped away from Wimbledon and we haven't exactly been overwhelmed with updates. Here is what we have gleaned from social media.
We know he was in Ibiza on June 28 when he tweeted "Having lunch with my friends. The landscape is amazing".
On June 30 he changed his Facebook cover photo with this image and the comment, "Maravilloso!! Wonderful!!"
On July 4 he was "Having a good time with my little cousins." (Note the Kinesio tape on his knee.)
The next day he was playing with the grown-ups.
On July 9 it looked like we might actually see something of him on a tennis court when he teased us with this, "Ready to the practice!"
And there were more teasers on July 10.
"Practising with my friend Tomeu Salvà!" (He may have the finger tape on but it looks more like lounging in the garden than practising to me.)
"All ready to start practising." (I can take pictures of equipment to show I'm all ready to start cleaning the house - doesn't mean I'm actually doing it yet.)
Two days later we got the evidence of what he's actually been practising - cooking.
And that's it.
His Uncle Toni has been quoted as saying that Rafa has been doing physical work-outs in the gym rather than playing tennis on a court but that he expects to be part of the line-up at the Rogers Cup in Montreal which starts on August 2.
We can't wait.
