My journey started on the early friday morning. It was 5.30am when my alarm bell rang and I had to get ready. After a nice hot shower and a coffee my mom and I started our 4 and a half hour trip to Bremen. Everthing went well and so we reached the AWD Dome (where the DC took place) just in time before the Opening Ceremony.
Rafa was the first to play. And he began like always with his routines on the bench, then jumping at the toss (he was already jumping during the opening ceremony!) and running to the baseline.
It was a hard first set and the crowd went totaly crazy when Kiwi got the re-break to reach the tie-break. And Emilio did what he could to give Rafa the best tips how to win this first set...

It was also a tough tie-break, but Rafa managed to win it! I checked my clock, and oh my God, just this first set took 1 hour and 29 minutes. If they continue like that, the next singles match will start at midnight! But thank God after that tight first set it was nearly just Rafa playing. And also the Spanish team got a little bit tired in their cheering

Just the shirt-change woke you up from this little bit boring second set (compared to that tough first one)
Still drooling over the shirt change and the third set was already over with Rafa jumping on the court and getting the congratulations of his team mates.

So the second singles match was about to start and I got nervous again, because I’m also a big fan of David Ferrer. The match didn’t start that well for him and he was immediately a break down against Kohlschreiber. He managed to bring this set to a tie-break, but lost that one. Even the cheering of Rafa, who came back at the end of the first set after his shower, couldn’t help Ferru win the set.
I have to confess that I didn’t really could concentrate on the match of Ferru, cause it was so interesting and funny to watch Rafa, Feli and uncle Toni chatting and Rafa and Feli goofying around!
So also don’t ask me, why you have to sit with two people on one chair, if a free one is next to it?!
During the sidechanges there were lots of kids, who came to Rafa asking him for autographes and he signed A LOT!!!!! But don’t think it gets out of control. The kids were very relaxed and well mannered. There was a lady always standing next to Rafa during the side changes and just let one after the other to him or told them, that it’s enough now.
I’m not exactly sure, but I think it was Emilio's son who was also in one of the player boxes and during one side change he came to Rafa and he and Feli were having fun with him. Soooooo cute!!!!!
After seeing Rafa cheering his team mate from the box, I can say it’s nearly impossible for him to just sit for 2 minutes. He was always jumping up and fist pumping when Ferru made the point.

When I took a look at the scoreboard the match was nearly over and there were just few points to play until he also managed to win and got the 2:0 lead for Spain. He was hugged like crazy by his team mates!
So a wonderful Davis Cup day is coming to an end and I have to say the atmosphere was amazing (also I would have preferred all those Germans to be Spaniards ;-)) in the AWD Dome here in Bremen. Tomorrow will be the doubles day and I’m already excited about that!
